Your mind perceives everything, including yourself, through the lens of the past. All you believe you are is based on your memory. In truth, you exist only in this split second called “now”. You are a “sense of being”, existing in this moment only. This sense of being is all there is. The experiences which have occurred to this sense of being are irrelevant. They have nothing to do with what you are. To meet yourself, to know what you really are, your awareness must be in the present moment because that is where you are, always. You are never in the past or the future. Learn to think of yourself as a momentary blink in this moment. This, more than anything else, is being in reality. You are always experiencing something, even if it’s “nothing”. It is that aliveness that you are, that sense of being in this present moment, experiencing these things, that you need to be aware of. This is the state called “I Am”.
